Gladiator Enemy

This is a shielded melee enemy. This enemy does quick slashes and recovers its shield when depleted. This enemy test the player's attack combo pattern and dodging capabilities.

Slash Combo Attack:

This attack is a slow 4-combo melee weapon slashes where the last swing of the enemy is an uppercut that makes the player fly away. This attack incentivizes the player to dodge or maintain distance. The attacks of the enemy will action lock the player. The player can also stagger the enemy when this attack is being performed using heavy attacks.

Slash Attack 2:

This attack is a fast 4 combo stabbing melee weapon attack where the last stab is a heavy stab making the player fly away if caught. This attack incentivizes the player to perform multiple dodges consistently or produce considerable distance from the enemy.

Gladiator randomly chooses one of the two slash attacks as the basic attacks.
In the animation montages, each of the attacks have controlled play rates to show the windup animation speed for the player to anticipate and feel the weight of each strike.

Earth Smash AOE:

Whenever the shields break, after an interval, the enemy does an AOE attack where the earth smashes around the enemy. The earth smashes 3 times radially and increases in size for every time. If the player is caught, the player takes damage and flies away. This incentivizes the player to move away from the enemy. After the earth smash, the enemy equips a new shield as a defensive move.

Adjusting the radius of the earth cracks will affect the difficulty of this move for the player.

Dodge and Guard:

When the enemy takes 7 hits, the enemy guard takes a stance with its shields up. The player has to use heavy attacks to break the guard of the enemy. This move has a cooldown and the cooldown will effect the difficulty of the enemy.

The player's light attacks will stagger the player and the enemy will take no damage.
